Despite Drug Agent's Assertion of Confession, Not Guilty Verdict on First Degree Felony

Despite Drug Agent's Assertion of Confession, Not Guilty Verdict on First Degree Felony

Law enforcement obtained a search warrant for our client's property, executed the warrant with our client present, and found large amounts of methamphetamine and methamphetamine manufacturing equipment. At that time, our client confessed to making methamphetamine at his house while his children were present.

Our client was charged with possession of a place used to manufacture methamphetamine with minors present and the manufacturing of methamphetamine. The first charge is a first degree felony, carrying heightened sentence exposure due to the subjecting of children to harm. These charges carry a maximum sentence of 45 years. At trial, Gainesville criminal defense attorney Andy Ingram challenged voluminous evidence presented by the State including our client's confession, eye witness testimony by law enforcement, and actual methamphetamine recovered from our client's house. Despite the mounds of evidence against our client, Attorney Ingram secured a not guilty verdict on both counts. Our client went home to his family a free man.
